58 Section 2B: Using Your Device’s Phone Features
Dialing With the Keyboard
1. Press Phone .
2. Press the numbered keys to enter the
phone number. (You don’t need to press
Option .)
3. Press Talk to dial.
Dialing by Contact Name
Before you can dial a call by contact name, you must create some contacts (see
Adding a Contact” on page 220), or import them by synchronizing (see
“Synchronizing Information—The Basics” on page 33).
1. Press Phone .
2. Select the Contacts favorite button.
3. Using the keyboard, start entering one of the
following for the contact you want to call:
First name (JOH for John).
Last name (SMI for Smith).
First initial and last name (JSM for John
Smith).
For example, entering SM might display Smila
Anderson, John Smith, and Sally Martin. Entering
JSM finds only John Smith.
4. Select the number you want to call, and press Talk to dial.
